There's nothing quite like surprising someone with fresh flowers — and sometimes the thought doesn't strike until the morning of a birthday, anniversary or "just because" moment. The good news? If you're in the Rockingham area, same day flower delivery is completely doable. Here's exactly how it works at Hanging Basket Florist.

The 2:30 PM rule

Our cut-off for same day delivery is 2:30 PM. Place your order before then — online, by phone, or in store — and we'll have your flowers delivered that afternoon. It's a firm cut-off rather than a rough guide, because our drivers follow a planned route and we need time to arrange your flowers properly before they go out the door.

How to place your order

There are three easy ways to order:

Online — Browse our full range, choose your flowers, add a message card and check out. You can pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Afterpay.

By phone — Call us on (08) 9528 6529 and one of our florists will help you choose the right arrangement for your occasion and budget.

In store — Visit us at 10 Ameer Street, Rockingham (opposite the Shopping Centre). You can browse what's fresh on the day and our team will put something together for you on the spot.

What to include with your order

To make sure your flowers reach the right person, we'll need a full delivery address including the suburb and postcode, and a contact phone number for the recipient. If you're sending to a workplace, a hospital, or a unit complex, please include as much detail as possible — building name, unit number, ward number — so our driver doesn't have to guess.

You can also add a personal message card at checkout. If you're not sure what to write, just leave it to us — we're happy to help with wording too.

What if no one is home?

If the recipient isn't home when our driver arrives, we'll leave the flowers in a safe, shaded spot where possible and send a notification. For this reason it's always a good idea to give us the recipient's phone number — our driver can call ahead or arrange a suitable drop spot. Fresh flowers don't love sitting in the sun, so the more we know, the better we can look after them.
